About Me

Hi. I’m Aleks.

As a teenager, a combination of hypermobility in my joints and a car accident at the age of 19 left me with pain and discomfort in my back and pelvis. During my rehabilitation, an osteopath suggested I start Pilates, and I haven’t looked back since.

“An osteopath suggested I start Pilates and I haven’t looked back since.”

Over the last 20 years of practice and teaching, I have learned how to effectively align and strengthen my body, in order to enjoy life to the full. Not only did Pilates help to alleviate my symptoms but I also felt fitter and healthier than I had done in years. I also found that I recovered quickly and easily from my two subsequent pregnancies.

I hold a CYQ Level 3 Pilates qualification which covers mat work for group sessions from beginner to advanced level, 1:1 sessions plus Reformer and Cadillac exercises. I am committed to learning and growing as a person and as a teacher. I recently completed my Comprehensive BASI Pilates Training course in London and hope to take my final exam very soon! I have also completed the BASI Injuries and Pathologies and Pilates for Scoliosis courses.

I am dedicated to working with clients to help strengthen, condition and balance their bodies. I believe that everyone, regardless of age or physical limitations, can build a strong body and mind. Pilates requires deep concentration in order to engage the correct muscles while performing an exercise. In that sense, Pilates can also provide meditative benefits, which I believe to be invaluable in today’s busy world. My approach is holistic, in that I like to get know my clients, their lifestyles, any mental barriers to movement and exercise, plus their aspirations for the future.
